WhatsApp chat sentiment

The plan was to parse an exported WhatsApp chat into date, time, author and message, then score each message with VADER.

What it printed in 2022

Nothing useful was printed, because the notebook did not get that far.

Where it stopped

The import cell failed with ModuleNotFoundError (emoji was not installed) and the remaining cells were never run.

The data

An exported chat from the tutorial. It is not in the repository.

Chat logs are private conversations. Any re-run should use my own export with consent, kept offline.

What I'd do differently

Run it on a chat I own, with everyone's agreement, and never publish the text.
